Stewby’s Seafood gumbo is one of our top selling menu items. It is a fan favorite and a family favorite recipe as well. This gumbo recipe, full of fresh seafood including gulf shrimp, scallops and fish was originated by Mr. Stewby’s very own father, a Destin Florida Local and seafood lover, Mr. Sam Taylor. This seafood gumbo was a local favorite at Sam’s Oyster House, the Taylor family’s first seafood restaurant. Later on, it was perfected by the owner and added to Stewby’s Seafood Shanty original menu 8 years ago, in fort walton. Since 2012 Stewby’s has been selling this delicious gumbo nonstop! One thing that has never changed however, is these use of on the freshest, local seafood for our gumbo and continuing to serve it at local prices. Full of flavor, overflowing with fresh local seafood, our customers can’t get enough and neither can we! I came to Destin hoping for a nice crab dinner. Stewby’s did not disappoint! The crab steamer provided a healthy, plentiful meal at a reasonable price. I hope to be able to done with you again when we visit.

I’ve had gumbo in a lot of places but Stewby’s is about as good as it gets. If you like gumbo I recommend you try it.
